Optibase Showcases MPEG-2 HD Encoding MPEG-4 AVC Transcoding and Software-Based Editing at IBC 2005

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands and HERZLIYA, Israel, September 9/PRNewswire/ -- Optibase, Ltd. (NASDAQ: OBAS), a leading provider of advanced digital video solutions is showcasing an exciting array of new products and technologies that target the High Definition (HD) market and the new MPEG -4 AVC IPTV standard, at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), Booth # 2.249, September 9-11, 2005.

MPEG MovieMaker 200 HD is designed for post-production studios working on video-on-demand (VOD) content and integrators working on high-resolution military simulation or surveillance projects. MovieMaker 200 HD board supports both high definition and standard definition video input, with MPEG-2 compression support at up to 80Mbps. The board digitizes from an array of inputs (file, analog or digital) and will drop files to a host as either compressed or uncompressed data.

MPEG-4 AVC Transcoding is the real time video format conversion from MPEG-2 over DVB/ASI to MPEG-4 AVC. These capabilities will be incorporated in Optibase's Telco-grade platforms, MGW 1100 and MGW 5100 enhancing the company's position as a provider of top quality, cost performance integrated MPEG-4 AVC box solutions that enable streaming top quality TV over broadband IP or ATM networks.

MGW 200 combines a compact, single-stream encoder with a back-end decoder to allow educational institutions, corporations and one-way television broadcasters to significantly lower their per-channel costs for video contribution, corporate communications and training, video server upload, high-end video monitoring and other IP streaming applications. The system transmits and receives live video over an IP network, encoding a single, live analog or SDI source in MPEG-2 or MPEG-1 and streaming it in real time via IP in multicast or unicast mode.

Media 100 HD, is Media 100's high quality hardware and software Macintosh based editing system that makes the jump to HD simple. With an easy to use interface and intuitive workflows for working with multiple CODEC's, Media 100 HD is the perfect product for those concerned with quality and ease of use in both HD and SD.

Media 100 sw, a software-only version of the company's Media 100 HD editing system ideal for those who want to edit on their laptops, from home or at school. The software will be rolled out as public beta on CD-ROMs distributed exclusively at the Optibase booth at IBC 2005. Media 100 sw brings the popularity and ease of use of editing in the Media 100 interface to an expanded range of markets, including producer/editors, home enthusiasts and students.
