Liberty Global Announces New Structure of European Technology Team
DENVER and AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Liberty Global, Inc. ("Liberty Global") (NASDAQ:LBTYA)(NASDAQ:LBTYB)(NASDAQ:LBTYK), announced today a new structure for its European technology team, headed by Tony Werner, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Liberty Global, effective October 3, 2005. These changes follow the retirement of Sudhir Ispahani, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Liberty Global Europe who will be leaving the company. Sudhir has served as CTO of Liberty Global Europe and its predecessor companies, UGC Europe, UPC and chello broadband since 1998.
Eric Lennon, currently Managing Director of Digital Architecture, has been appointed as CTO of UPC Broadband, Liberty Global's European distribution operation. In this role he will be reporting to Gene Musselman, President and Chief Operating Officer of UPC Broadband on an operational basis, and directed by Tony Werner for functional and strategic issues. Eric will assume responsibilities for the UPC Broadband Digital Network Architecture, IP and HFC Architecture, Integrated Labs and Testing and Technical Finance and Capacity Planning.
Eric and several of his team members will also be working with Tony on Global Technology Strategies. Bonnie Gray, currently Managing Director, Field Operations, will assume the title of Chief Network Operations for UPC Broadband, including Engineering, Program Management and Field Operations and continue to report to Gene Musselman.
Mehrdad Mansourpour has recently joined UPC Broadband to become the new Chief Information Officer of UPC Broadband, overseeing the company's IT systems, reporting to Gene Musselman. Mehrdad brings many years of experience in IT lastly as Chief Information Officer at Flag Telecom Group Ltd. He succeeds Sue Whitehead who has decided to move back to the U.S. with her family.

The former UGC Technology Board will transform into the Liberty Global Technology Board, which will be chaired by Tony Werner.
