Premiere of Jack's Big Music Show on Nick Jr. Delivers Big Ratings; Go, Diego, Go! Lead In Delivers Jungle-Sized Numbers
Go Diego Go! Consistently Wins Its Regular Time Period with All Kids on Broadcast and Cable TV; Jack's Big Music Show Premiere on NOGGIN is Network's Highest Rated Premiere Ever
NEW YORK, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Nick Jr.'s new series, Go Diego Go!, and NOGGIN's newest original series, Jack's Big Music Show, are captivating preschoolers! Go Diego Go!, the spin-off of Dora the Explorer, earned a 8.3/1.0 million kids 2-5 during its Mon., Sept. 12 broadcast at 11 a.m. (all times ET/PT), and is consistently winning the time period on all of broadcast and cable television with all kids (K2-5 and K2-11). Since its primetime premiere (Sept. 6, 8 p.m.), Diego has increased ratings by 18% with kids 2-5; and since its debut in the Nick Jr. block (Sept. 7, 11:30 a.m.), it has seen a ratings increase of +73%.
Following Diego's Sept. 12 broadcast was the premiere of the NOGGIN series Jack's Big Music Show at 11:30 a.m. on Nick Jr., which earned a 6.2/775,000 kids 2-5 rating. The Jack's Big Music Show premiere episode was simulcast on both NOGGIN and Nick Jr., and earned a 2.8 kids 2-5 rating during its NOGGIN broadcast, an increase of +111% versus last year's like time period, making Jack's the highest-rated NOGGIN series premiere ever. A NOGGIN encore telecast of Jack's on Sept. 12 at 2:30 p.m. earned the series 2.0 K2-5 rating, +13% above last year's time period average.
Fans were given "sneak peeks" of Go Diego Go! on several different Nickelodeon preschool platforms in a unique rollout, leading up to the primetime premiere. From Aug. 16 thru Aug 26th, Nick Jr. Video on http://www.nickjr.com/ streamed a Diego episode, delivering more than 100,000 unique users and increasing traffic to the platform by +30%. It was also made available on Video on Demand and wireless platforms.
Go Diego Go! airs on Nick Jr. weekdays at 11 a.m., and will make its debut on Nick Jr. on CBS on Saturday, Sept. 17 (check local listings). Go Diego Go! features eight-year-old Diego (Jake Toranzo-Szymanski), a bilingual animal rescuer and nature expert who has the ability to talk to animals, takes preschoolers on interactive, high-stakes journeys inspired by the rich environments of Latin America and by the animals that make their homes in those habitats. In each episode, Diego and his friends encourage kids to use scientific thinking and investigative strategies to help animals in trouble. The animals appearing in Go, Diego, Go! are indigenous to Latin America and are seen in their authentic habitat, with featured animals including the chinchilla, sloth and condor. The show is also flavored with Spanish words, Latin American music, folktales and traditions, all giving the audience the opportunity to experience Diego's culturally rich world. Go Diego Go! was created and is executive produced by Chris Gifford and Valerie Walsh, the same team behind the phenomenal hit show Dora the Explorer.
Jack's Big Music Show is NOGGIN's new, 13-episode live-action series hosted by Jack, a music-lovin' puppet and his melodious cast of friends who play everyday at Jack's clubhouse. Jack's is a new platform for kids' music and will feature videos and live, in-studio performances by popular children's musicians who visit the clubhouse, as well as a music video performance by acclaimed children's recording artist Laurie Berkner, every week. The mission of Jack's Big Music Show is to expose and foster an appreciation of music in young children. In the premiere episode, entitled "Little Bad Wolf," Jack, Mary and Mel get a visit from The Little Bad Wolf -- the Big Bad Wolf's brother. He huffs and puffs and blows the instruments all over the place making piles of musical messes. To get The Little Bad Wolf to stop blowing down the clubhouse, they teach him how to play the tuba and make marvelous music together. Jack's Big Music Show airs on NOGGIN weekdays at 12:30 and 4:30 p.m.
