Movie Gallery Announces Aid to Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts

Company to Donate $100,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund

Customers Can Make Donations to Support the Relief Effort at All Movie Gallery, Hollywood Video and VHQ Entertainment Store Locations

DOTHAN, Ala., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Movie Gallery, Inc. (NASDAQ:MOVI) today announced that it has made a $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross to support disaster assistance and humanitarian relief efforts in connection with Hurricane Katrina.

Movie Gallery is also encouraging the general public to donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund through its 4,700 store locations across North America. All Movie Gallery, Hollywood Video and VHQ Entertainment stores will accept customer cash donations through Friday, September 30, 2005.
