President Bush's Job Approval Ratings on Issues Important to His Agenda Decline Slightly
As President Bush's overall job approval ratings have been declining in the past few months, ratings on five of six key measures that are important to the president's agenda have declined slightly since May. The latest Harris Poll finds that even approval ratings on issues related to taxes have decreased, an area where the president usually holds strong. While the negative perception on the part of U-S adults can certainly turn around, it nonetheless shows weaknesses that might make passing new initiatives or legislation difficult in the months ahead.

TV Watching Losing Appeal Among Tweens and Young Teens, New Report Finds
As they get older, American tweens and young teens -- the 8-14 year old crowd -- become increasingly disinterested in watching television, and more and more distracted when they do watch it. This is according to The U-S Market for Tweens and Young Teens, a new report from publisher Packaged Facts, a division of MarketResearch.com. The T-V still reigns supreme -- almost 80 percent of the younger tweens say that they "love" watching television, according to research conducted by Simmons Market Research Bureau. However, this drops to 60 percent when kids reach their early teen years. And, many tweens and young teens often do something else while the tube is on, such as read, listen to music or use a computer.

Over Three-Quarters of Women 35+ Feel as Good or Better About Their Looks Today as in High School
Remember the adage, "men age gracefully, women just age?" Well, forget it. When asked to compare how they feel about their looks today versus their high school yearbook photo, 79 percent of women 35 and older say they look as good or better now than they did then. According to a recent national telephone survey commissioned by Talbots, women's confidence in their looks holds steady at every age. While 86 percent of women 35-44 say they feel as good or better about how they look today, 79 percent of women 45-54 and 76 percent of women age 55-plus feel just as positive.
