PHILADELPHIA, July 25 /PRNewswire/ -- MTV Networks, BET and partner Comcast today announced a contribution of $25,000 to Philadelphia's Children First Fund, a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the School District of Philadelphia. The donation is part of "Revel With a Cause," a kickoff party for this year's CTAM convention.

A check was presented today to Ellen Savitz, Chief Development Officer, Philadelphia's Children First Fund, by Donovan Gordon, Sr. Vice President, Affiliate Sales and Marketing, BET; Jessica Heacock, Senior Vice President, Affiliate Sales and Marketing, MTV Networks; Courtney Menzel, Vice President, National Marketing, Affiliate Sales and Marketing, MTV Networks, and Dave Watson, Executive Vice President of Operations, Comcast Cable.

As part of BET, MTV Networks and Comcast's ongoing commitment to engendering meaningful change throughout the communities in which they operate, these companies have donated a substantial portion of the funds earmarked for the 2005 CTAM kickoff party to the Children First Fund. Individual party attendees were also encouraged to make contributions of their own to the organization throughout the evening.

"We're dedicated to enriching and contributing to the communities that we serve," said Nicole Browning, President, Affiliate Sales and Marketing, MTV Networks and BET. "Donating a significant part of our annual party budget seemed like a great way to further that goal. This year we threw a great party, that was a little scaled down, with the unprecedented added bonus of giving our guests the chance to support a wonderful and worthy cause."

"We're thrilled and honored to receive such a generous donation from MTV Networks, BET and Comcast," said Savitz. "It is this kind of generosity that enables us to continue our work supporting the efforts of the students, teachers, leaders and programs of the Philadelphia School District."

"Philadelphia is Comcast's home and we are connected to our communities in many ways. Providing support for education is a key component of our community investment strategy. Having the opportunity to support The Children First Fund which helps students all over the city is fantastic. We are proud to be associated with MTV Networks and BET in this very creative way to aid our hometown," Said Watson.
