Joseph Ianniello Named Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Viacom

NEW YORK, July 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Viacom Inc. (NYSE:VIA)(NYSE:and VIA.B) today announced that Joseph Ianniello has been appointed Senior Vice President and Treasurer, with responsibilities for corporate development, corporate finance, worldwide treasury and risk management activities for the Company. Mr. Ianniello, who was formerly Vice President of Corporate Development at Viacom, will continue to report to Viacom's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Michael Dolan. Mr. Ianniello succeeds Robert Freedline, who left the Company in March 2005.

Mr. Ianniello, 37, has been at Viacom since 2000. In his role as Vice President, Corporate Development, he was integrally involved in identifying and assessing potential mergers and acquisitions at the Company. He has played an integral role in all major transactions since 2000, including the divestiture of Blockbuster and the acquisitions of BET, Comedy Central and Sportsline.

Prior to joining Viacom, Mr. Ianniello spent three years as Director of Financial Planning at CBS, where he handled all financial planning matters across the company. He also spent time in the investor relations and internal audit departments. Before joining CBS, Mr. Ianniello spent seven years with KPMG in various capacities. He holds an MBA from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Pace University. Mr. Ianniello serves on the Board of the charitable organization New Alternatives for Children. In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Public Accountants.
