LOS ANGELES, July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- G4 - videogame tv - tonight announced the winners of the 3rd annual "G-Phoria" awards - The Mother of All Videogame Award Shows. The esteemed winners, chosen by fans who cast more than 1 million votes online and via text message, joined Hollywood's hippest celebs and VIP guests at the Los Angeles Center Studios to celebrate. Hosted by Wilmer Valderrama and featuring musical performances by the Black Eyed Peas and The Bravery, "G-Phoria" - The Mother of All Videogame Award Shows premieres Tuesday, August 9 at 8:00 PM ET/PT with the pre-show broadcast beginning at 7:30 PM ET/PT on G4. "G-Phoria" was presented by EB Games, Jeep and Mountain Dew.

Fans made their favorite game known, bestowing Halo 2 with top honors and the most overall awards of the evening. The wildly popular game, published by Microsoft and developed by Bungie Studios, took home "G-Phoria" awards for Game of the Year, Best Shooter, Best Multiplayer Game, Best Sound Design, Best Original Soundtrack, Best Boss and Best Male Voice Performance - David Cross. Sony Computer Entertainment America's God of War(TM) also made an impressive mark, winning the awards for Best Action Game, Best Cinematic, Best Original Game and Favorite Character. Additionally, Valve's Half-Life(R) 2 lived up to its hype, receiving kudos for Best Graphics and Best Female Voice Performance - Merle Dandridge. Finally, actor William Shatner was on hand to honor the legendary Ralph Baer, who created the first ever videogame console and has left an immeasurable impact on the world of videogames.

More than 1,000 celebrity and VIP guests turned out to "G-Phoria" to honor the best the videogame industry has to offer. During the event, guests were treated to exclusive sneak peeks of over 25 new videogame titles including the first playable version of Peter Jackson's King Kong, the official video game based on Universal Pictures' December 14th film release, as well as a variety of games from Microsoft's next-generation console, Xbox 360(TM).
