The Days of '47 Announces KUTV 2 Pops Concert on July 9
SALT LAKE CITY, July 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The Choral Arts Society of Utah and Orchestra with Sterling Poulson as Music Director and Conductor team up with Chris Holden, and soprano Margo Watson. Also performing is the Utah folk and bluegrass group, Fire on the Mountain. The concert is free to the public, but tickets are required. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Those without tickets will be seated on a first-come, first-serve basis after 7:15 p.m. Tickets will be available June 21st at Abravanel Hall, Capitol Theatre, and Daynes Music.
The chorus and orchestra will present an evening of quality musical entertainment as the story of the early days of America unfold in a performance of American Tapestry and other favorite folk tunes with Utah's own Fire on the Mountain(R). This fabulous blend of folk and bluegrass style features familiar American tunes, close harmonies, and fast instrumentals. Over the last 20 years this group has also been able to develop a repertoire of original songs. Although a regular at state and community celebrations throughout Utah, Fire on the Mountain(R) also performs regularly at most of the state's resorts and meeting destinations such as Snowbird, Alta, Deer Valley, and Park City.
You will be singing and tapping your feet as fifty years of Disney Magic unfold with all the early Disney favorites. The final episode of Star Wars will also be remembered with a rousing rendition of the Imperial March. There will also be a well-deserved tribute to our Armed Forces, and the singing and foot tapping will return as the concert winds up with your patriotic favorites.
