'The Contender' Fan Favorite Joey Gilbert Signs on as Spokesperson for the Bands For Freedom Foundation

OREM, Utah, July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bands For Freedom Foundation today announced boxer/lawyer/TV personality and "The Contender" fan favorite Joey Gilbert has agreed to be a spokesperson.

"Joey Gilbert is a prime example of everything that's right and good with America, and we're excited to have him become part of the team," said Andy Chudd, Executive Director of the Bands For Freedom Foundation.

The Bands For Freedom Foundation has made arrangements for Gilbert to participate in the upcoming Stars For Stripes Southwest Asia tour this Fall, where he and other celebrities will entertain U.S. troops.

"Growing up in a military family and having a father who has pulled two tours of duty in Southwest Asia since 9/11, it is truly an honor to be chosen to visit and support our men and women in uniform," Gilbert said.

On "The Contender," Joey provided some of the show's most dramatic moments and was championed by Executive Producer Sylvester Stallone, who called him "the heart and soul of 'The Contender'." Joey is proud to continue his close association with Stallone by signing on as the official Spokesmodel for his new line of fitness nutrition products, Sylvester Stallone's Instone Nutrition.

Rising star Gilbert is also not limited to a career in boxing. In addition to being a practicing attorney, Joey is actively leveraging the momentum generated by "The Contender" to pursue several exciting opportunities for acting roles, sports color commentary, and corporate celebrity endorsements.

Representing the Bands For Freedom Foundation, Gilbert will wear the patriotic silicone wristbands made by the Foundation while encouraging others to buy the bands and support the cause of freedom. Priced at $1.00 each, the bands can be purchased at www.bandsforfreedom.com.

The Bands For Freedom Foundation is donating all after-cost revenue from the sale of its silicone wristbands to the Armed Forces Relief Trust(AFRT) to help soldiers and their families.
