Bush Faith Documentary Wins Four Awards Including 'Best Picture of the Year'

DENVER, July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Christian Visual Media Association (ICVMA), which honors outstanding family-friendly values TV shows and feature films from throughout the world, has awarded three of its highest awards to the TV/DVD documentary "George W. Bush: Faith in the White House."

The Bush Faith documentary received a total of four awards at the ICVMA annual July awards dinner in Denver, including Crown Gold Awards for Best Picture of the Year, Best Screenplay, Best Documentary over $50,000 and a Crown Silver Award for Best Curriculum related to a film.

The Bush Faith documentary, which was produced by Grizzly Adams Productions (GAP), has aired on the PAX-TV Network, LINK-TV, DISH-TV Pay-Per- View, Angel Network, ten Christian TV networks, and the audio version on 200 Christian radio stations plus TV networks in foreign countries. The film and all the related promotional items have also become a part of the permanent President Bush collection at the Smithsonian Institution.

The documentary was selected by TV and film critics along with nine other finalists to be considered for the Crown Awards. The ICVMA international membership then voted on the nine nominations with "Bush Faith" emerging as the winner with four awards.

David W. Balsiger, Vice President of Grizzly Adams Productions and the producer-director of the controversial Bush documentary, accepted the awards saying, "Many people had mistaken this documentary to be a political film but the members of ICVMA recognized it for what it really is - an historical behind-the-scenes documentary that chronicles how President George W. Bush 'walks the talk' of his religious faith."

"Our White House Faith television documentary was produced independent of any contact with the White House or the Bush administration," says Balsiger. "It's based entirely on independent research, and in part on two best-selling books examining President Bush's personal faith."

The best-selling books used in the TV special include "George W. Bush On God and Country," by Tom Freiling, and "A Man of Faith: The Spiritual Journey of George W. Bush," by David Aikman, former senior correspondent for Time Magazine. Viewers also see extensive interview segments with Stephen Mansfield, author of "The Faith of George W. Bush."

Included in GAP's "Bush Faith" documentary are public comments from Bush critics as well as numerous interviewees who provide actual details of their personal experiences with President Bush in the areas of his faith, according to Balsiger.

Named after its long-running NBC-TV series, "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams," GAP has created more than 500 family-friendly TV specials and series for NBC, CBS, Discovery, The Learning Channel, and other networks, including the popular PAX-TV series, "Encounters With the Unexplained."

The DVD of the Bush program is distributed in the secular trade by GoodTimes Entertainment and in the religious trade by FaithWorks. Consumer direct purchases can be made by calling (800) 811-0548 / http://www.grizzlyadams.tv/.
