Starz InBlack Launches First Original Stand-Up Comedy Show

Production Begins on Edgy Urban Comedy Show Featuring Some of the Funniest Up-and-Coming Comedians

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Starz Entertainment Group (SEG) announced today that it will begin production on its first late-night stand-up comedy show featuring some of the nation's hottest up-and-coming urban comedians. Raw and edgy, "1st Amendment Stand-Up" will be shot before a live audience at the Eleven50 Club in Atlanta, Ga. Taping is scheduled for Tuesday, June 28th through Thursday, June 30th.

The new series, of which ten episodes have been ordered, is a co- production with Mojo Raid LLC. "1st Amendment Stand-Up" will air exclusively on Starz InBlack beginning in September.

Featured comedians in the uncensored half-hour show include: Tommy Chunn (I Got the Hook Up), Joey Diaz (The Longest Yard), D'Militant ("Inside Joke"), Miguel Nunez (Juwanna Mann), A.J. Jamal ("Cisco and Ripple"), Thea Vidale ("Thea"), Ralphie May ("Celebrity Fit Club") and more. The series will be hosted by comedian Doug Williams ("Premium Blend") and is produced and directed by writer/director Mike Bohusz. Both hail from BET's "Comic View." Mixing the latest hip-hop hits during the show will be recording artist and on-air personality DJ Nab.
