SILVER SPRING, Md., June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Award-winning actor John Turturro will host Discovery Times Channel's weekly series DISCOVERY TIMES SCREENING ROOM, which features powerful and distinctive films by leading documentarians, bringing film festival style and personal storytelling to viewers' living rooms. Every Thursday in July, Turturro will present a showcase documentary that offers a unique perspective on topical issues.

He has starred in films such as Rounders, He Got Game, The Color of Money, To Live and Die in L.A. and Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing.

Some of the films to be shown in the DISCOVERY TIMES SCREENING ROOM series include the following:

PROMISES - Network Premiere, Thursday, July 7 at 9 PM

This 2002 Academy Award-nominated film presents the complicated relations between Israelis and Palestinians through the eyes of young people on both sides of the divide. Though the children live only 20 minutes apart, they exist in completely separate worlds -- the physical, historical and emotional obstacles between them run deep.

BOLLYWOOD BOUND - Network Premiere, Thursday, July 14 at 9 PM

If you thought it was tough to make it in Hollywood, Bollywood -- and BOLLYWOOD BOUND -- will blow you away. The film follows the lives of four aspiring Indo-North American actors trying to make it in the mainstream Indian film industry, a.k.a. Bollywood.

WITH ALL DELIBERATE SPEED - Network Premiere: Thursday, July 21 at 7 PM

This is the powerful and moving story of the heroic acts leading up to the May 17, 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision that legally desegregated America's public school system. While this character-rich historical saga will be the foundation of the film, it will also be the springboard into the very modern drama of race relations today -- some 50 years after Brown.
