Special SEPTA All-Day Passes for Live 8 and Sunoco Welcome America!

PHILADELPHIA, June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- With record numbers of people anticipated for the upcoming Live 8 concert on July 2, and Sunoco Welcome America! festivities on July 4, SEPTA is offering special All-Day passes for each event.

Live 8: Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to fill the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for the worldwide Philadelphia performance of the Live 8 concert. Travel and parking on Center City streets will be greatly restricted and SEPTA is highly recommended as the most convenient way to get to and from the concert.

A special Live 8 Day Pass is available and offers unlimited travel on all SEPTA bus, Regional Rail train, trolley and subway lines. The passes are priced at $8.00 each and contain magnetic encoding for speedy boarding at stations and on vehicles. The passes are available now on the internet at http://www.buyphilly.com/. Passes purchased online will be mailed to customers, and online sales will be discontinued after June 27. The Day Pass will be available beginning June 24 at all Regional Rail Ticket offices and major SEPTA Sales Offices.

Sunoco Welcome America! - July 4th: Philadelphia's popular Independence Day festivities feature events throughout Center City from morning till night. The special SEPTA Sunoco Welcome America! Day Pass enables celebrants unlimited travel throughout the city and region. The pass is priced at $8.00 each. The passes are available now on the Internet at http://www.buyphilly.com/. Passes purchased online will be mailed to customers, and online sales will be discontinued after June 27. The pass will be available beginning June 24 at all Regional Rail Ticket offices and major SEPTA Sales Offices.

Live 8 Day Passes and Welcome America! July 4th Day Passes are individual and are not interchangeable. These passes will not be sold aboard Regional Rail trains.

Regular SEPTA weekly and monthly passes are valid on weekends and holidays, therefore July passes are valid for Live 8 and Welcome America! festivities on the 4th of July.

Parking at SEPTA Regional Rail parking lots is free on weekends and holidays.

Special Live 8 and Welcome America! Day Passes are not valid to or from Trenton, New Jersey. These customers should inquire about joint SEPTA/New Jersey Transit tickets.
