Opening the 2005 OC Fair Summer Concert Series, The B-52's perform on Friday, July 8, at 7:30 p.m. Naming themselves after Southern slang for exaggerated bouffant hairdos, the B-52's have launched many barn-burner party classics, such as "Rock Lobster", "Private Idaho", and the Top 10 hits "Love Shack" and "Roam." Pop-hybrid duo Junior Senior will open the show. All tickets for this show are $19.99.
Blue-collar comedian Bill Engvall performs Saturday, July 9, at 8 p.m. Engvall released his first album, "Here's Your Sign," in 1996. The single became the most requested single on country radio and was ranked No. 1 on Billboard's Country Singles Sales Chart for 10 weeks. Since then, Engvall has gone on to release a total of nine albums, made numerous television appearances and became one of the co-creators and stars of the "Blue Collar Comedy" tour and television show. Hootie & the Blowfish broke onto the American music scene in 1994 with their debut album Cracked Rear View. Tonic and Cracker also perform.
Grammy-award winner Julio Iglesias has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, performing in Spanish, Italian, French and English.
