MLB.com to Offer Both Home and Away Television Broadcasts of Tomorrow's Cubs vs Red Sox Game

MLB Radio To Broadcast Live From Chicago's 'Heaven on Seven'

NEW YORK, June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball will offer, for the first time ever, both the home team and away team television broadcasts, for tomorrow afternoon's Chicago Cubs vs Boston Red Sox game at 1:20 pm CST from Wrigley Field in Chicago. This is also the first time that the Cubs have hosted the Red Sox since 1918.

MLB.TV, a subscription product that allows out-of-market fans the ability to watch live internet broadcasts of almost every game, typically offers either the home team or the away team feed. In this historic match-up, however, fans will be empowered to select either Chicago's WGN-TV broadcast or Boston's NESN broadcast. Local blackout rules will be in effect.

"Because this is the first time in 87 years that the Red Sox have visited the Cubs in Chicago, we wanted to do something special and make the most of our broadband, interactive capabilities to satisfy two extraordinary fan bases," said Dinn Mann, senior vice president and editor-in-chief of MLB Advanced Media, the interactive media and Internet company of Major League Baseball that runs MLB.com and the 30 individual club sites.

MLB.TV can be purchased on a seasonal, monthly or pay-per-day basis at MLB.com.

In addition, MLB Radio's free "Under the Lights" nightly wrap-up and fan discussion internet radio show, broadcast Monday to Friday from 10:00 pm to 1:00 am, will broadcast tomorrow evening live from Chicago's popular sports spot near Wrigley Field, "Heaven on Seven," at 3478 N Clark Street. Special quests and a mic'd audience are expected to add to the show's usual lively banter. Fans in the Chicago area are encouraged to attend.
