Local Feature Length Film Finds Audience on Comcast ON DEMAND

Local Feature Length Film Finds Audience on Comcast ON DEMAND

Immigrant Garden Made by 350 Local Volunteers and Shot Entirely in Southwest Washington; ON DEMAND Content Also Includes Special 'Making Of' Section

SEATTLE, June 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Immigrant Garden, a beautiful coming of age story created by 350 local volunteers and shot entirely in Lewis, Cowlitz and Thurston Counties, will make its cable television debut this Friday, June 10th on Comcast ON DEMAND, Comcast announced today.

Based on Caroline Wood's award-winning play, Immigrant Garden follows 17-year-old Cecily Barnes as she begins a journey of self discovery after finding a packet of English flower seeds at her general store. The film is set in Oakville of 1910 and is produced by C. Tad Devlin, a former Hollywood producer whose credits include When a Man Loves a Woman, Sleeping with the Enemy, George of the Jungle and D3: The Mighty Ducks.

"This film is truly a labor of love not only for myself, but for the local volunteers who devoted their time and energy to making this project special," said Devlin. "I'm thankful to Comcast for recognizing how important this film is to the local community and for breathing new life into a project I hope will find widespread distribution."

"Comcast is committed to bringing our customers more and better choices for in-home entertainment, including independent films like Immigrant Garden," said Tom Pierce, VP of Marketing and Sales for Comcast's Washington market. "Immigrant Garden is a wonderful example of how ON DEMAND technology can help beautifully made, but narrowly distributed films find an audience."

ON DEMAND offers Comcast Digital Cable customers more control than ever before, with the ability to choose from movies, music, sports, news, instructional and entertainment programming and more. In addition, viewers can rewind, fast forward and pause programs, and can store most selections for up to 24 hours from the time of ordering, so they can watch shows whenever and however often they like. An interactive, on-screen programming guide makes selecting from the library of ON DEMAND content quick and easy. The vast majority of ON DEMAND content is free to Comcast Digital Cable subscribers, while first run movies cost $3.99.

To find Immigrant Garden, call up the onscreen guide, click on ON DEMAND, click on the movies button and then click on the tab that says Immigrant Garden. The movie and "making of" documentary will be available on Comcast ON DEMAND through September 30th. The movie will cost $1.99 per order, and will be available for 24 hours after ordering. The "making of" segment will be free to all Comcast Digital Cable subscribers.
