The DR Group Introduces DR-Color(TM) Color Correction System

The DR Group Introduces DR-Color(TM) Color Correction System

DR-Color(TM) Brings Professional Level Power to Color Correction Process for Under $55,000

LOS ANGELES, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The DR Group, the entertainment industry's total solution provider for Final Cut Pro products, services and consulting, announced today the introduction of its DR-Color(TM) color correction system. The DR-Color(TM) is a turnkey solution that combines Silicon Color's Final Touch, eCinema System's DCM23 high accuracy reference grade monitors and Tangent Devices' CP-200 Control Panels. These uniquely configured systems provide colorists with professional level performance at a fraction of the cost of da Vinci, Discreet Lustre and Pogol systems.

The DR Group recognized the need for a powerful and affordable color correction system based on the company's years of post production experience as Hollywood's top provider of Final Cut Pro mobile editing systems, studio based rentals and consulting services. As the first professional level color grading solution available for under $55,000, the DR-Color(TM) ushers in a new era in digital color correction where purchasing a high-end system is not limited only to large facilities.

The DR-Color(TM) works with 2K DPX and Cineon files in realtime, which allows a colorist to manipulate primaries, secondaries, effects and geometries (pan-scan-rotate-zoom) either while the content is playing or in single frame mode. Colorists can rely on the DCM23 LCD monitors -- the first non-CRT monitors that can be used for color grading -- to deliver rock-solid calibration that can be trusted across serial numbers and locations. DR-Color(TM) is ideal for both standard definition and HDTV and 2K color grading.

"Traditionally, the options for professional quality digital color correction systems have been extremely limited and the prices high," said Lowell Kay, CEO and founder of The DR Group. "DR-Color(TM) offers colorists and independent filmmakers a system that provides an extremely high level of performance at an attractive price."

Prices for the DR-Color(TM) range from $21,500 to $51,000 depending on configuration. More detailed information is available upon request.
