Comcast of the District Celebrates the Grand Opening of Its Newly Renovated Technology and Customer Service Center
D.C. City Administrator Robert Bobb, Councilmember Vincent B. Orange, Sr., and D.C. Chamber of Commerce President Barbara Lang Among Local Leaders Marking Grand Opening Celebration
WASHINGTON, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast of the District today announced the grand opening of its newly renovated technology and customer service center located at 900 Michigan Avenue, NE, Washington, D.C., 20017. Comcast invested more than $10 Million to purchase the building and renovate more than 35,000 square feet of the building, which houses nearly 200 employees including customer service personnel and technicians. The renovations include a new customer service and payment center and new local Comcast call center to handle customer inquiries from across the District.
The Comcast technology and customer service center houses more than 85 technicians and a fleet of 115 trucks and service vehicles used to serve customer needs across the District. These technicians work to service and maintain nearly 1,000 miles of Comcast's cable plant across the city.
Comcast celebrated the grand opening of the newly renovated building with tours for local elected officials and leaders including District of Columbia City Administrator Robert Bobb, Councilmember Vincent B. Orange, Sr., D.C. Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Barbara Lang and other local government, business and civic leaders.

Comcast has invested more than $72 Million in upgrading its cable system infrastructure in Washington, D.C. to deliver the most robust broadband services available to residents. The Comcast fiber-optic upgrade project is more than 99% complete in The District delivering Comcast customers with better system reliability, and numerous other new products and services, such
as Comcast High-Speed Internet, HDTV services, Digital Video Recorder (DVR), and On Demand services.
