Do Something Cool This Summer for the Elderly ... Help NBC 10's 'Beat the Heat' Campaign

Donate a Fan or Air Conditioner

Sunday, June 26th, 10AM-2PM in NBC 10's Parking Lot

Every year senior citizens are affected by the threat of heat-related illnesses or worse, heat-related deaths. Two of the area's biggest media companies (NBC 10 TV and WDAS AM & FM), are asking their viewers and listeners to come out and donate a fan or air conditioner to help the elderly in the tri-state area beat the heat.

Who: NBC 10's African American Forum (AAF), an affinity group whose mission is to strengthen ties with the community in our viewing area, has formed a media partnership with WDAS 1480 AM and 105.3 FM to collect donated fans and air conditioners to help keep our senior citizens cool this summer.

What: In years past, the NBC 10 AAF 'Beat the heat' campaign received overwhelming support from people throughout the Philadelphia Region. The goal this year is to increase the number of donations. Donated fans and air conditioners will be distributed, free of charge, to area senior citizens.

When: Sunday, June 26, 2005, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Fan & Air Conditioner Donations Only)
