AIM Tell-A-Vision Wins Third Consecutive Imagen Award
Pioneering producers of culturally relevant programming win Imagen Award three years running
NEW YORK, June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- In an impressive feat, Aim Tell-A-Vision's (AIM TV) MAXIMAS PRODUCTIONS nationally syndicated program American Latino TV won its third consecutive Imagen Award for TELEVISION-BEST NATIONAL INFORMATIONAL PROGRAMMING at the Imagen Awards' 20th Annual Awards Program, a star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles on June 17th.
American Latino defeated four other competitors, including its own sister program LatiNation, to win the honor. AIM TV's Urban Latino Television won the 2003 and 2004 awards for the same category.
"Our mission has always been to improve the way Latinos are depicted on television with high quality, culturally relevant and inspiring programming. Winning the Imagen Award for the third year in a row gives us validation that we are fulfilling that mission," stated Robert Rose, CEO of AIM Tell-A-Vision and Executive Producer of the series.
American Latino TV (ALTV), continues to be the most widely distributed English-language, half-hour culture and lifestyle program for young Latinos. To date, American Latino TV can be seen on over 70 affiliates across the United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and can be seen in over 60 million homes every week.
"This win is evidence that the market is growing and more importantly that we are growing," states Renzo Devia, President of Maximas Productions, the production arm of AIM Tell-A-Vision. "We are proud that the industry notices what we are doing along with our viewers."
AIM TV programming is syndicated on full-power, English-language broadcast television stations nationwide and include some of the strongest names in the business. Their distribution platform is many times more powerful than even the largest Latino- targeted cable networks. AIM TV's programming competes on a reach level that rivals that of the Spanish-language broadcast television networks. Re-runs of AIM TV programming and segments can be found on select cable networks and via DVDs.
The Imagen Foundation was established in 1985 to encourage and recognize the positive portrayal of Latinos in all media, and to increase Latino representation at all levels of the entertainment industry.
