Discovery Times Channel Debuts Limited Series TIMES SEVEN
Newsmagazine Style Series to Use New York Times and Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Journalism to Present Timely Stories in Documentary-Style Format
SILVER SPRING, Md., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Discovery Times Channel announced today the of launch TIMES SEVEN, four weekly one-hour programs that take viewers beyond the headlines of the most intriguing and important stories in the news from around the world. Drawing on the enterprise reporting of The New York Times and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), TIMES SEVEN takes a fresh approach to the news of the day, with an emphasis on reporting from the field. TIMES SEVEN debuts on Discovery Times Channel on Saturday, June 4, at 7 PM (ET/PT) with remaining episodes premiering in the same time slot each Saturday thereafter.
Hosted by veteran CBC journalist Ian Hanomansing, the weekly program will feature innovative first-person reporting and a wide range of stories presented in five distinct categories:
* COVER STORY -- Lead topical story of the week, told from multiple perspectives.
* ENTERPRISE -- Spotlight on the most intriguing investigative or enterprise stories from New York Times and CBC journalists.

* OP-ED -- Home to commentary, opinion pieces and satire from New York Times columnists and others.
