Comcast Recognizes High School Seniors for Community Service and Leadership

Leaders and Achievers(TM) Scholarship Program Awards $1,328,000 in Scholarship Grants Through The Comcast Foundation

PHILADELPHIA, June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The Comcast Foundation today announced the recipients of the 2005 Leaders and Achievers(TM) Scholarship Program. Each of 1,328 students -- recognized on the basis of community service, leadership skills, positive attitude and academic achievement -- will receive a one-time grant of $1,000 that can be used toward the student's pursuit of higher education.

High school seniors attending schools in Comcast communities across the country were nominated for the scholarship program by their school principals. The Leaders and Achievers(TM) Scholarship Program underscores the Comcast philosophy that young people should have every opportunity to achieve their potential, and should be motivated to be catalysts for positive change in their schools and communities.

Since its inception in 2000, the Leaders and Achievers(TM) Scholarship Program has awarded more than $4.1 million in scholarship grants to students in recognition of their service to their communities.

The program is managed by Scholarship Program Administrators - an independent, not-for-profit organization that manages corporate and corporate foundation scholarship programs.
