Catholic Television Now Being Made Available to Millions of British Viewers via the Sky Television Network

LONDON, June 9/PRNewswire/ -- Sky Television has recently included the US Catholic Television Channel EWTN onto its FreeSat Service. The service is available on channel 680. Sky subscribers can now have access to a television service that is purely Catholic in content and spirit. Others who want access to it can currently pay a one off GBP150 to Sky purely for the box, dish, installation and FreeSat service.

John Gunn, Catholic Action Group's (C.A.G.) National Coordinator Commented, "Catholics in the United Kingdom can now more easily access programming that is both informative and devotional from a Catholic perspective. EWTN has done a fine job in the United States in promoting the truth of the Catholic Church. It is hoped it will have a similar impact here where many Catholics are truly ignorant of their faith primarily due to 40 years of bad catechesis."

Robert Williams an Anglican convert and the group's Secretary stated that, "As more of the UK population are aware of the Catholic Church due to recent events, this is a great opportunity for them to explore its truths in a non-pushy way to hopefully discover as I did that this is the only and one true Church that Christ built on the rock of St Peter."

C.A.G. - is an independent Catholic organisation. It has been established to defend Catholic truth nationally in the United Kingdom through action both inside and outside of the Church. Membership is open to all mainstream orthodox Catholics who are fully obedient to the teaching magisterium with the Pope at its head and all bishops obedient to the Pope.

Most recently it has issued a UK Voters Guide for Catholics and has also supported and promoted Catholic boycotts of CAFOD (Catholic Agency for Overseas Development) for its controversial HIV/Aids - ABC (Abstain, Be Faithful, Use a Condom) policy and also Comic Relief for its funding of pro-abortion organisations.
