Boom Bachs Marching Band Gets Legs From Streamline Tower

LAS VEGAS, May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Some folks might think the Helldorado Days Parade is just for cowboys, cowgirls and cows. Well, that's just old fashioned bad thinkin'. The Helldorado Days Parade has a place for everyone, even a marching band with no instruments, and thanks to Streamline Tower, Nevada Public Radio's Boom Bachs Marching Band will darn well prove it.

So what's the Boom Bachs Marching Band? In a word -- hilarious, with about 60 station members walking the parade route with transistor radios tuned to Classical Music 89.7 KCNV. Now thanks to a "pardnership" with Streamline Tower, the band has legs and will march in the return of the fabled Helldorado Days Parade on May 14 in Downtown Las Vegas.

Helldorado Days was the oldest and most celebrated annual event in Southern Nevada, and the Helldorado Days Parade was a central part of the annual celebration. Now it is making a historic return as part of the Las Vegas Centennial, and Streamline Tower is the sole sponsor of Nevada Public Radio's Boom Bachs Band.

The Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. downtown and will wind along Fremont and Fourth Streets. Cowboys, musicians, dancers, horses, floats, high school marching bands and the Boom Bachs Band comprise this walking ode to Las Vegas culture and its Western heritage.
