Country Stars Return Home To Build the American Dream on 'CMT Home Blitz'
CMT Partners with Habitat for Humanity and Lowe's to 'Blitz' Build Homes for Six Deserving Families
NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- CMT, Habitat for Humanity and country music superstars make owning a home a reality for six deserving families in the new original series, CMT HOME BLITZ. Returning home for the ultimate project, country stars and an inspired team of builders lend a hand to "blitz" build new homes in just two short weeks. The six-episode series, debuting Friday, May 20 at 9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT,* will premiere a new episode each month. Featured artists will include Sara Evans, Julie Roberts, LeAnn Rimes, Trace Adkins, Brad Paisley and Gretchen Wilson.
In the network's third year of home-oriented programming, CMT HOME BLITZ marks the first time CMT has partnered with a nonprofit organization that strives to make homeownership possible for families who might, without Habitat, ever own their own home. CMT HOME BLITZ will build in communities across America, including Columbia, Mo., Greenville, S.C., Jackson, Miss., and Springhill, La.
In CMT HOME BLITZ, cameras follow the intense "blitz" building of six Habitat for Humanity homes, which are completed from start to finish in just two weeks by a team of volunteers. The swat construction team is led by CMT hosts John and Heather, who guide homeowners through the delicate building process.
The debut episode features Sara Evans' hometown of Columbia, Mo., where one lucky resident is about to realize her dream of owning a home for the first time. With help from neighbors she doesn't even know, ground is broken on a new home and a new future. The one-hour episode of CMT HOME BLITZ will follow every step of the two-week building process, including the future owner's effort to raise funds for additional Habitat for Humanity projects in her community.
The construction of CMT HOME BLITZ will be achieved with help from presenting sponsor Lowe's, the nation's second largest home improvement retailer.
