Principal For A Day Celebrates 11th Year With Roster of New York City's Best

NEW YORK, April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- On April 6, more than 800 New York City business leaders and other notables will be partnering with public schools in all five boroughs as part of Principal For A Day, the flagship program of PENCIL (Public Education Needs Civic Involvement in Learning). Participants include:

* Tony Danza, Host of The Tony Danza Show, at PS 209 in Brooklyn * Paul Caine, Publisher of People Magazine, at Tito Puente Junior High School in Manhattan * Kwame Jackson, from The Apprentice, at John H. Finley School in Manhattan * Jay Cross, President of the New York Jets, at Chelsea Prep in Manhattan * Fernando Ferrer, Former Bronx Borough President, at Bay Terrace in Queens * C. Virginia Fields, Manhattan Borough President, at a school in The Bronx * Gifford Miller, New York City Council Member, at PS 188 in Queens * David Neeleman, Founder, Chairman & CEO of JetBlue, at Beach Channel in Queens * Matt Serletic, Chairman & CEO of Virgin Records, at the Brooklyn High School For Music and Theater

At 4:00pm, PENCIL, Merrill Lynch and a school partner will ring the New York Stock Exchange Closing Bell.

At 4:30pm, Principal For A Day will conclude with a state-of-the-art electronic feedback survey that will be used to gauge participants' opinions on the progress and needs of their schools.
