MusicNet Appoints A.D. 'Bud' Albers as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

NEW YORK, April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- MusicNet, the world's leading business- to-business digital music service provider, today announced that it has appointed A.D. "Bud" Albers to the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Albers will be responsible for overseeing the Company's full range of technical operations, including Program Management, Development, Test and Network Operations. He will be based in the Company's Seattle office and report directly to Alan McGlade, CEO of MusicNet.

Albers joins MusicNet from Seattle-based Drugstore.com, where he served as the Chief Technology Officer and was a key member of the organization's management team and responsible for all aspects of their technology, including design, development and operations. Prior to that, he spent several years as the Chief Technology Officer for Getty Images, where he was responsible for leading a team of more than 300 professionals in the design, development and implementation of the world's largest distribution platform for commercial imagery and stock video footage.

Earlier in his career, Albers led pioneering efforts in Internet commerce for Ameritech as well as leading all of the global technology strategies and architectures for Monsanto. Additionally he has an extensive background in commercial enterprise class applications gained through Ameritech and several senior management positions with NxTrend Technologies. He holds a Masters' Degree in Information Management from Washington University and a B.S. in Computing and Informational Science from McKendree College. In addition, Albers has served on the customer advisory boards for Hewlett Packard and Compaq, spoken at many industry events and panels, and been featured in leading trade publications such as Infoworld, Computerworld and CIO Magazine.
