Music Honoring Mothers: Canada's Madonna Tassi Joins Grammy-Winning Norro Wilson for 'My Mother,' Debuting on XM Satellite, April 29

NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Acclaimed Canadian vocalist Madonna Tassi has paired with award-winning record producer Norro Wilson for her first American single release, "My Mother." The stirring and majestic tribute (which Tassi co-wrote with her regular producer, Antonio Pulsone) will be released to radio stations on April 18, just in time to spotlight Mother's Day observations on May 8.

"My Mother" is the lead single from Tassi's album, Man Of My Dreams, which is due out April 26 on IMMI Records of Knoxville, Tennessee. The label also boasts country soul singer Con Hunley on its expanding roster.

Tassi will debut the single and other cuts from her album April 29 at 8:00 p.m. EDT during a three-hour live segment on XM Satellite Radio's America Channel 10 with Country Dan.

Tassi lured Wilson out of retirement to produce three songs for the 13-cut Man Of My Dreams package. Most recently, he had co-produced albums for country superstars Kenny Chesney and Reba McEntire and, before that, for Sara Evans, John Michael Montgomery, Charlie Pride, John Anderson and Tassi's fellow Canadian, Shania Twain. A member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Wilson won a songwriting Grammy for the Charlie Rich hit, "A Very Special Love Song."

"I just couldn't believe that Norro agreed to do this," Tassi says. "He had just finished Reba's album. In the back of my mind I was thinking, 'This is too good to be true.'" Wilson also produced the album's title cut.

Born and raised in Newfoundland, Tassi, and the youngest in a family of 15 children, has been performing publicly since she was five, beginning as a member of the Hagerty Family group. She fronted her own band when she was 13. She later moved to Ontario and became prominent as a jingle singer in Toronto's thriving commercial music scene. Her first nationally broadcast single was "My Heart's An Open Invitation."

While most of the songs on Man Of My Dreams are new, Tassi also vocally transforms four pop/country classics: "True Love Ways," "Paper Roses," "Break It To Me Gently" and the timeless teen yearner, "Where The Boys Are."
