Datamonitor Identifies Front Porch Digital as Global Leader in Digital Archive Management
New Research Report Highlights DIVArchive Dominance of European Broadcast Market
BOULDER, Colo., April 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Incentra Solutions, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: ICEN) today announced that its Front Porch Digital Broadcast & Media Division has been identified by industry analyst firm, Datamonitor, as the global leader in digital broadcast archive management. This finding is documented in a recent Datamonitor research report titled "The Broadcast Value Chain. How the TV Production Workflow Operates."
Focusing primarily on the European broadcast market, Datamonitor compiled its study through an extended series of interviews with companies supplying components within the digital broadcast value chain, leading broadcasters and other industry experts. The report explains the nature of digital broadcast workflow and the components that enable it, and details key market statistics for each sector of the supplier value chain.
According to the report, Datamonitor believes the European market for digital broadcast archives will continue to grow at strong double-digit rates, with triple-digit growth in individual countries such as Germany. The report notes growth in both the number of RFPs (Request for Proposals) being issued, as well as the rise in the average selling price of these deals due to broadcasters seeking larger and more complex archive systems. Within this environment of accelerating adoption of digital archives, Datamonitor believes Front Porch is very well positioned.
The report states, "This niche market is dominated by Front Porch Digital (it is also the global leader) which is now owned by Incentra. Although this market is still relatively young, Front Porch Digital is growing faster than the market due to its efficient architecture and ease of scalability. Its recent partnership with Telestream, the video transcoding format market leader, in the archive management market should prove beneficial."
These findings are supported by recent Front Porch experience. During 2004, Front Porch sold more than 40 new archive systems to a long list of global media leaders. Many of these transactions were for large and complex archive management systems for which DIVArchive enjoys significant competitive advantages. The product is recognized for delivering superior functionality, interoperability and scalability, all critical factors in customer selection criteria.
Datamonitor provides additional evidence regarding the strength of Front Porch relative to its competitors. It states that, " ... while EMC has played in this market via its AVALON solution in the past, it is understood that AVALON is withdrawing from this market." It also states that, "SGL has come at this market from a digital image and publishing industry with its FlashNet product, but is understood to be struggling to catch up with Front Porch Digital."
"The Datamonitor research report is further validation of the success we are achieving in the global broadcast marketplace," said Front Porch president, Mike Knaisch. "We have gained the trust of the world's leading media brands because we meet their expanding needs with products and services they can rely on. We will continue to invest heavily in the development, testing and validation of new, best-of-breed technology, while also adding broader capabilities to deliver complete digital archive infrastructure solutions. Everyone in this company is dedicated to building upon the success and reputation we have established thus far."
