Diana's Legacy Lives on in One-of-a-Kind Musical CD About Her Life

OMAHA, Neb., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- American songwriter and playwright, Karen Sokolof Javitch, is re-releasing her CD, produced by JMR Productions, about the life of Princess Diana. She has chosen this time because she doesn't want the marriage of Prince Charles and Camilla to overshadow the princess.

PRINCESS DIANA, THE MUSICAL is the only CD of its kind in the world. The moving, musical tribute will "help keep Diana's memory alive," Mrs. Javitch says. She wrote the 33 songs about the late princess to describe her life with Prince Charles -- their courtship, their troubled marriage, and their divorce. The songs reflect Diana's transition from being an unknown 19-year old to becoming the most famous woman in the world.

Ms. Javitch initially composed the "Diana" songs as a way of coping with the princess' death. After reading Andrew Morton's book, IN HER OWN WORDS, she continued composing and then teamed with award-winning author, Elaine Jabenis to write a script. This "Princess Diana" production has been produced twice in Omaha, Nebraska, the authors' hometown, raising over $25,000 for two of Diana's favorite charities -- AIDS and the RED CROSS.

PRINCESS DIANA, THE MUSICAL is the third of seven CD's Ms. Javitch has written and produced. She has three other musical albums, and her most recent CD stars the "American Idol" triplets (TAKE THREE), made famous on the hit TV show when "Idol" judge, Simon Cowell, called them "overweight Jessica Simpsons." Of all Karen's musicals, PRINCESS DIANA is her favorite, probably because of the closeness she feels to the princess. "The reason everyone loved her so much was because of her loving heart." "Ironically," says the songwriter, "it seems the only person who couldn't love her was her husband."

The thirty-three songs run the gamut in emotion and content. Not only do they include duets between Diana and Charles, but the songs also feature Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, the Queen Mum, Fergie and Prince William. Diana's keen intuition is displayed in the song, Suspicion!, as she sings to her sisters two days before the wedding night, "I hope there's just two of us sleeping in the bed!"

The love ballad that will bring tears to the eyes of all Diana lovers is There Was A Time. This expresses Diana's love for Charles, at the same time doubting that Charles ever loved her.

PRINCESS DIANA, THE MUSICAL captures Diana's essence, and for all those who miss her, this CD brings her spirit back to life. The songwriter also hopes that by listening to it, we'll feel closer to Diana and it will ease the hurt we feel when her ex-husband marries the "other woman."
