International, Award-Winning Hair Stylist Marc Anthony Weighs in on the Good, the Bad and the Hairy ...
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- No one noticed the quintessential red carpet! The Oscars were buzzing with A-listers swarming the Kodak Theatre to catch a glimpse of their peers dressed to the nines. Who was wearing what? Did you see the jewelry? And how 'bout that hair!
Marc was on hand at Red Carpet '05, a week-long series of events leading up to the Oscars. Marc was caught with his hands in many A-list celebrities' hair, including Kate Bosworth, Natasha Henstridge and Catherine Bell. It was good for everyone and the results were breathtaking.
Let's talk about the hair ... Marc Anthony, an international award-winning hairstylist based in Toronto, Canada was at the Oscars this year and fills us in on who was trendy, who was terrible and everyone in between.
CATE BLANCHETT - Cate was a surefire trendsetter illustrating the latest style in beauty: fluid waves which transitioned into beautiful, cascading curls.
KATE WINSLET - Kate looked stunning with loose, romantic waves gently pulled off of her face. The feeling was sexy bohemian meets classic glamour.
LAURA LINNEY - Laura went for a sleek, severe style, which would have looked more current with a gentle wave that allowed more movement.
HILARY SWANK - Hilary's hair was pulled off her face and swept into a beautiful uncontrived bun. It was a safe choice and worked well with her backless dress.
SCARLETT JOHANSSON - The "It" girl who always gets it right was disappointing this year because of the tight frizzy curls reminiscent of a perm. Loose and more unstructured curls would have been a more flattering look for this stunning young actress.
NATALIE PORTMAN - Natalie was a true representation of stylish young Hollywood, wearing a diamond encrusted headband. It was a modern twist on an elegant tradition.
SELMA HAYEK - Selma's style was well done from a technical standpoint but was a bit dated for such a beautiful, dynamic actress.
HALLE BERRY - Although we are used to seeing Halle with beautifully short hair, her new extensions were worn perfectly. The gentle center part and loose flowing waves deserve accolades over the long tight curls she's been seen in lately.
So Oscar went home with some, slipped away from others but he's still desired by all. But will the star's hairstylists be returning??? Marc Anthony will be there -- and you can count on him for up-to-the minute trends, fabulous forecasting and spectacular styles to top off that stunning dress.
