QUALCOMM Announces On-Time Sampling of the MSM6275 HSDPA and EDGE Chipset - Enhanced Platform Chipset Delivers Integrated Broadband Data and Multimedia Services - SAN DIEGO, Jan. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, today announced the on-time sampling of the Mobile Station Modem(TM) (MSM(TM)) MSM6275(TM) chipset for WCDMA (UMTS) with support for High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA), a next-generation feature of the WCDMA standard and GSM/GPRS/EDGE (EGPRS). The MSM6275 chipset, part of QUALCOMM's Enhanced Platform, delivers peak data rates of 1.8 Mbps, allowing faster transmission of larger data files and improved file transfer capabilities to drive commercial wireless multimedia by enabling advanced gaming, music distribution services and the faster streaming of multimedia files. HSDPA increases network capacity to permit more users on the network, allowing operators to expand their customer base while capitalizing on their WCDMA investments.
