Aligo Names Former Vicinity Executive to Top Leadership Post; Emerick M. Woods has been appointed its Chief Executive Officer as of January 4, 2005. Mr. Woods, who will also join the company's board of directors, will replace Mr. Robert Smith, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities. Mr. Woods will be responsible for leading Aligo into the future - including executing an aggressive growth and market leadership strategy based on delivering new products and services, continued revenue growth, increasing market share, and establishing new channels. Woods has managed and founded several early stage high technology companies, held numerous executive positions, and, consulting positions at McKinsey and Company and Booz Allen & Hamilton. Mr. Woods has most recently been working closely with a leading venture capital firm to reposition, develop sales and growth strategies, and launch early seed stage companies. From 1997 to 2001, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Vicinity Corporation, a publicly traded company where he completed its initial public offering and successfully raised over $140 million. At Vicinity, he implemented a turnaround strategy that refocused the company from a content syndication company to an enterprise application service provider becoming the leading provider of enterprise-class location-based services. While at Vicinity, Woods increased annualized sales from $1 million to nearly $25 million in less than 3 years.
