This IP Television and IP Set-top box operating system runs natively on the Texas Instruments DM64x family of Media DSPs. MediaLinux enables, on a single DSP, a layered operating environment where digital signal processing executes together with Linux services and applications. The Softier IP Set-top platform is designed to distribute content in homes, hotels, airplanes, cars and other environments where video can be viewed. The system communicates with media servers on the Internet via built-in Ethernet. It also supports Wi-Fi connections to home networking and USB connection to removable storage devices.
