Greece now the Favourite European Holiday Destination for Real Holidaymakers RAINFORD, England, January 27/PRNewswire/ -- RealHolidayReports.com ran an online survey on its website last month. The question was posed "Where is your favourite European Holiday Destination". Almost 2000 people completed the survey and the result would seem to indicate that Greece has overtaken Spain as the UK holidaymakers favoured location. http://www.realholidayreports.com/surveys/ 34% of respondents voted for Greece, followed by 29% for Spain and close behind 24% for Turkey. So has Spain's domination of the UK holiday market been broken? RealHolidayReports.com is an independent website where real people report back on real holidays and was launched in 2001. RealHolidayReports.com is aimed at the 17 million UK holidaymakers(1) who take package holidays abroad each year, and want more independent and truthful information before they book rather than just relying on a paragraph in a travel sales brochure. Approximately 85% of the reports submitted are favourable with the remainder ranging from unsatisfactory to hellish. The reports can vary from one word to a number of paragraphs. As well as being informative many of the reports are quite humorous. Gary Hewitt added: "The website has proved to be an extremely popular resource for holidaymakers when choosing their next holiday. The response to this survey is an indication of people wanting to be part of a community and feeling that their vote counts." In fact the website has almost become a victim of its own success as the site had to be migrated to a new server and hosting package in December 2004, to cater for the number of visitors and bandwidth requirements.
