Democracy Radio Launches Progressive Talk on Three More Stations

Democracy Radio Launches Progressive Talk on Three More Stations Detroit, Washington, D.C. and Cincinnati Tune in Starting January 20 WASHINGTON, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Having largely created the new format of Progressive Talk, Democracy Radio -- in association with Jones Radio Networks -- announced that it has added three new markets for its compelling hosts: Detroit, Washington, D.C. and Cincinnati. Starting January 20, The Ed Schultz Show will be carried live from 3:00 -- 6:00 p.m. on WXDX in Detroit, WCKY in Cincinnati, and WWRC in Washington, D.C. The Stephanie Miller Show will be on WWRC from 9:00 a.m. -- 12:00 p.m. "This is great news for Ed Schultz and Stephanie Miller, who are setting the standard in the new format of Progressive Talk," said Democracy Radio CEO Tom Athans. "It's even better news for millions of people who will now be able to tune in and find out what all the buzz is about." Ed Schultz is "the most widely carried liberal on radio" and has been called "an overnight sensation" by the Washington Post. Broadcasting out of Fargo, N.D., Ed recently celebrated his first year on the air. He is currently heard in 6 of the top 10 radio markets. Stephanie Miller teamed up with Democracy Radio in September and has been the hottest new Progressive Talker in the industry. Based in Los Angeles, Stephanie's smart and funny brand of radio has won over fans throughout the country. Democracy Radio is the fastest-growing provider of Progressive Talk radio in the country. It developed and syndicates The Ed Schultz Show and The Stephanie Miller Show. Jones Radio Networks, the nation's leading independent radio programming company, distributes the programs. "Jones Radio Networks is proud to be first to market with Ed Schultz, the leader of the Progressive Talk movement," said Amy Bolton, VP of Talk Programming for Jones Radio Networks. "And now, with the addition of Stephanie Miller, radio programmers across the country have greater choices to create a winning Progressive Talk lineup." Democracy Radio does not purchase airtime on local affiliates. Its phenomenal growth is the product of its compelling and entertaining talent, not the result of paying local stations to carry its content. http://www.democracyradio.org/ Source: Democracy Radio CONTACT: Todd Webster, +1-202-547-7700, for Democracy Radio Web site: http://www.democracyradio.org/ ------- Profile: International Entertainment
