ArtMolds Announces First Annual Life Casting Awards for Artistic Achievement in the Service of Humanity

ArtMolds Announces First Annual Life Casting Awards for Artistic Achievement in the Service of Humanity SUMMIT, N.J., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- ArtMolds (www.artmolds.com), a New Jersey based manufacturer of art kits, mold-making and casting materials, today announced that it has joined forces with the Association of Lifecasters International (ALI) to co-sponsor the first annual Life Casting Awards for outstanding artistic achievement in the service of humanity. *(Logo: http://send2press.com/mediadrome/logo-artmolds_72dpi.gif ) "This unique award was created to promote public awareness about life casting, which is an ancient art form dating back 3500 years," said Ed McCormick, Founder and Managing Director of Lifecasters International. "But we also want to emphasize the spirit of giving. The Life Casting Awards will be given to artists who have created a meritorious life casting work which has been gifted to a member of the general public. We are as interested in the story behind the gift as we are in the work itself, as this is a contest about using creativity in the service of the world." Works submitted for the Life Casting Awards will be reviewed by a team of 3 judges, who are experts in life casting and sculpture. This year's judges are Dave Parvin, Roy Butler and Ed McCormick. The rules for the competition are as follows: - Entry is limited to ALI Members. - The artist must create a piece of life casting art as a gift to a member of the general public. - Weight will be given to any positive press generated by the gift. - The work must be a meaningful gift. For example, an artist could create a life casting art piece and donate it to an auction to help tsunami victims. - A photo(s) of the artwork, the artist, and the recipient of the gift, as a 300dpi JPEG format, must be included with the submission, along with a story about the gift. The story must be in English, and must not exceed 250 words. Awards to Competitors The winner of the Life Casting Awards will receive $350.00 and a certificate. First runner up will receive $150.00 and a certificate. First- through third-prize winners will also receive a Life Casting Award statue, created especially for the event by internationally renowned artist and sculptor Philip Hitchcock, designer of the L.A. Ovations Award, and who recently created over 24 life castings for Fox's hit TV show "The Swan."
