Glimcher Realty Trust and Carmike Cinemas Announce Plans to Renovate and Expand the Mall 8 in Morgantown, WV COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Glimcher Realty Trust (NYSE:GRT), one of the country's premier retail REITs and Carmike Cinemas, Inc. (NASDAQ:CKEC), of Columbus GA, announced today their plans to expand and renovate the Mall 8 theatre at Morgantown Mall located in Morgantown, WV. Construction is to be done in two phases, with four existing auditoriums temporarily closing during each construction phase. The theatre will add four new auditoriums and all 12 will feature state-of-the-art stadium seating and upgraded digital sound. The lobby, concession area, hallways and restrooms will also be refurbished. The renovation for the newly named "Mall 12" is tentatively scheduled for completion in the summer of 2005. Morgantown Mall is a one-level enclosed shopping center, anchored by Elder-Beerman, Proffitt's, JCPenney and Sears and also includes over 65 specialty shops and several refreshment venues.
