Atlantic City's Largest Non-Gaming Expansion Set to Open at Tropicana Casino and Resort ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, November 23, at 12 Noon, The Tropicana Casino and Resort will preview its $285 million expansion project, The Quarter At Tropicana. The Las Vegas-styled dining, shopping and entertainment complex will feature an unprecedented selection of more than 60 world-class dining options, red-hot entertainment and nightlife venues, chic and cultured retail and the most lavish and luxuriant spa facility the city has ever seen. Guests will walk through a lifelike, two- story streetscape that brings to life the exotic splendor of Old Havana Cuba. "November 23 is an auspicious day for us because it was 23 years ago, to the day, in 1981 that we first opened our doors. This is a thrilling occasion for us all," says Dennis C. Gomes, president of Resort Operations for Aztar Corporation, Tropicana's parent company The Quarter at Tropicana will feature 15 restaurants and more than 5,000 seats for dining guests. Within The Quarter's new Havana Tower will be 502 guest rooms, including 466 hotel rooms, 34 premium suites and four Apex Board Rooms, as well as 2,400 new parking spaces, bringing the total number of parking spaces to 5,547. When completed, The Quarter at Tropicana will be the largest non-gaming expansion in the history of Atlantic City. The Tropicana Casino and Resort will encompass 14 acres, making it the state's largest hotel, and the third largest casino, with more than 148,256 square feet dedicated to gaming, 4,400 slot machines and more than 133 table games.
