SiriusXM Canada Announces Special Meeting of Shareholders will be held on August 30, 2016

TORONTO, July 5, 2016 /CNW/ - Sirius XM Canada Holdings Inc. ("SiriusXM Canada" or the "Company") (TSX: XSR), the parent of Sirius XM Canada Inc., today announced that it will be holding a Special Meeting of Shareholders on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. The purpose of the meeting will be for shareholders to vote on the Company's proposed recapitalization by way of a go-private transaction (the "Recapitalization"), which was previously announced on Friday, May 13, 2016.

Holders of record of SiriusXM Canada's Class A Subordinate Voting Shares and Class B Voting Shares at the close of business on Friday, July 29, 2016 (the "Record Date") will be entitled to vote at the Special Meeting, while holders of Class C Non-Voting Shares will be entitled to receive notice of the Special Meeting.

The Company will seek an interim order from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice approving the Special Meeting and Record Date.
