Deal offers rare 35mm archive film in high-definition for the first time

NEW YORK, April 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Shutterstock, Inc. (NYSE: SSTK), a leading global provider of imagery and music, today announced an exclusive content partnership with British Movietone regarding their British Movietone Moving Pictures Collection, to distribute never before digitized archive footage from 35mm film to HD video clips.

The British Movietone Moving Pictures collection is a stock footage collection created from out-takes, back plates and second unit material from Cinema features produced at the Denham, Shepherd's Bush and Pinewood Studios between 1930 and 1960. The unique collection unearths scenes of global landmarks and stunning landscapes, throughout the United Kingdom, India, Italy, Turkey, South America and the United States, similar to iconic movies from that period.

The collection features culturally and commercially valuable point-of-view shots from trains and cars, night footage which is particularly scarce from this time, aerial views of Fort Knox from 1964 and historical icons of transport including the famous TWA aircrafts.
