Sony's Ghostbusters To Be Released Worldwide In IMAX® 3D Theatres
Tentpole Slated for Global Roll-Out in IMAX the Weekend of July 15
LOS ANGELES, March 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- IMAX Corporation (NYSE: IMAX) and Sony Pictures Entertainment today announced that Sony Pictures' highly anticipated summer tentpole Ghostbusters, from director Paul Feig, will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX(®) 3D format and released into IMAX(® )theatres domestically on July 15, with select international territories set to begin the day prior.

The new film stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth, from a screenplay written by Feig & Kate Dippold, based on the film Ghostbusters, written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis and directed by Ivan Reitman. Reitman and Amy Pascal produced.
