Bye, Bye Monday Blues! New Seasons of Some Assembly Required and Max & Shred Begin March 14
TORONTO, March 8, 2016 /CNW/ - YTV's got your Monday nights covered with the return of two fan favourite series, SomeAssembly Required, which premieres Monday, March 14 at 7 p.m. ET/PT followed by Max & Shred's Season 2 premiere at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT.
In the Season 3 premiere of Some Assembly Required, Jarvis (Kolton Stewart The Next Step) discovers that a Meeskatanian toy company, Knockknock Toys, is making knockoffs of all of Knickknack's most popular toys, and recruits Bowie (Harrison Houde, Diary of a Wimpy Kid) to investigate. Bowie is captured while investigating the company and the gang must fly to Meeskatania to save him and put an end to the knockoffs. Season 2 ended with Jarvis declaring his love for Piper (Charlie Storwick, The Next Star) and this season fans will see him pursue her, while Piper, convinced that she and Jarvis are meant to be nothing more than friends, moves on to pursue her music career. Bowie will try to help bring them together, but how much can he really help? Some Assembly Required is a YTV original series produced by Thunderbird Films. The series is created by Dan Signer (A.N.T. Farm, Mr. Young) and Howard Nemetz (Mr. Young, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody).
While on Max & Shred, it's all about ch-ch-changes! New adventures are in the works for the gang, but through it all, Max and Shred remain best bros and Blizzard Springs continues to be the craziest town around. In the Season 2 premiere episode, Max (Jonny Gray, Bruno and Boots: Go Jump In The Pool!) gets his own reality web series, and the whole family gets pulled into the craziness. Everyone in the family is happy to take part, except Alvin (Jake Goodman, Life with Boys) who would rather not have his daily life recorded. When the show's over-the-top producer realizes Alvin isn't crazy enough to be on TV, he decides to replace him with an actor! A decision Alvin is fine with. But Max is bummed when he's left to deal with a crazy fake Shred, and has to beg Alvin to return and get things back to normal. Showrunner for Max & Shred is George Doty IV, (iCarly, Victorious, Zoey 101 and Drake and Josh). Executive Producers include George Doty, Ira Levy, Peter Williamson, Joan Lambur, Nat Abraham and Michael McGuigan for Breakthrough Entertainment. Click here for the Season 2 trailer.
Max & Shred fans will have a chance to meet Jake Goodman, Emilia McCarthy and Saara Chaudry at the free Canadian Screen Award's FanZone MEET THE STARS event on Saturday, March 12at 2 p.m. at the CF Toronto Eaton Centre.
