Company launches consolidation strategy
MONTRÉAL, Nov. 18, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - TVA Publications is pressing ahead with its strategic plan aimed at strengthening its leading position and better meeting the needs of its readers and advertisers.
To maintain its status as Canada's top publisher, TVA Publications has decided to concentrate on its strongest brands. TVA Publications announced today that, to achieve this goal and address market saturation, it will cease publication of six titles: 150 plans, Animal, Décormag, Le Lundi, MOI&cie and Signé M.
This strategy will enable TVA Publications to give its flagship titles, including 7 Jours, La Semaine, TV Hebdo, CHEZ SOI, Coup de pouce, Les idées de ma maison, Canadian Living, ELLE Canada, Elle Québec, Clin d'oeil, Canadian Gardening, Style at Home and The Hockey News Magazine, stronger support and enable them to grow and thrive in their respective markets. The move will enable advertisers to target their desired audiences even more effectively in order to achieve their business objectives by taking advantage of our portfolio of 60 titles.
Fast-changing industry is reinventing itself
"The Canadian magazine industry is changing rapidly," commented Lucie Dumas, Vice President and Publisher, Magazines Group, TVA Publications. "It should be noted that we will maintain a strong presence in every segment - fashion, home decor, cooking, entertainment, etc. - in order to continue meeting the needs of our loyal readers and advertisers."
TVA Publications remains fully committed to print magazines as a core vehicle in its business strategy while continuing to develop its brands on digital platforms.
According to the recently released Vividata survey, TVA Publications has more than 10.8 million readers across all platforms. With 3.2 million multiplatform readers for its French-language titles and more than 8.1 million readers for its English-language titles, TVA Publications has a stronger relationship than ever with consumers, as evidenced by its status as Canada's #1 publisher.
