M&M'S® New Ad Makes 'Eating In Bed' Irresistible

M&M'S® New Ad Makes 'Eating In Bed' Irresistible

Humorous TV Spot Puts a Soap-Opera Spin on Enjoying Delicious Milk Chocolate All to Yourself

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J., July 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- How irresistible are M&M'S Chocolate Candies? So much so, sometimes you just want them for yourself. Even if it makes a loved one jealous.

That's the premise of a new TV commercial released today by Mars Chocolate North America from M&M'S® Brand. The spot, titled "Eating in Bed" and produced by BBDO New York, takes a humorous look at a married couple's argument over eating chocolate in the bedroom. When wife Liz decides to enjoy "dessert" all by herself, her husband Scott is shocked by the mouth-watering betrayal - and the appearance of M&M'S "spokescandy" Red alongside his suddenly blushing bride.

The ad features many of the hallmarks that make M&M'S ads so popular: appearances by beloved "spokescandies" Red and Yellow, an outlandish parody of pop culture tropes, some sly misdirection, and a payoff that provides colorful fun for viewers. It also features the iconic track "Tainted Love" to amplify the awkward bedroom scene.

"Our latest commercial shows how irresistible M&M'S really are in a way that's part comedy, and part soap opera," said Berta de Pablos-Barbier, Vice President, Marketing. "We think viewers will have fun with all the twists and turns, and see how it's even more fun to share M&M'S Chocolate Candies versus keeping them all for yourself."

The commercial debuts nationally on Monday, July 27 on television and on the brand's social media channels. For more, visit the M&M'S® Brand Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mms or the official M&M'S® Twitter handle (@mmschocolate).
