Award-winning Poet J. Ivy Honored with Top Blacks in Healthcare Award for his Dear Father Book and Movement

CHICAGO, April 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- As a Grammy Award-winning poet, J. Ivy is celebrated throughout pop culture for his performance poetry, motivational speaking and hip-hop collaborations. Currently, with his new book "Dear Father: Breaking the Cycle of Pain," he will be recognized by BlackDoctor.org with a Top Blacks in Healthcare award at their gala on April 30, 2015.

J. Ivy's support throughout the community is also legendary, with the accompaniment to his book, the Dear Father Movement letter writing campaign inspiring one million people to write letters to their own fathers.

His latest works involve a commissioned poem and performance for Michael Jordan's 30th anniversary for the Jordan brand and a feature on Estelle's song, "Time Share" on her new album, "True Romance."
