Wreaths Across America Launches WAA Radio

New Radio Station a Platform for Organization and Supporters to Express Appreciation for Veterans, Their Families and the Military Community

ELLSWORTH and COLUMBIA FALLS, Maine, Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Wreaths Across America (WAA), a nonprofit organization best known for its annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery and more than 900 other locations nationwide -- with a mission to Remember, Honor and Teach about the service and sacrifices of our veterans -- today announces the launch of a new 24/7 Internet radio station, WAARadio.org.

Working in conjunction with MaineInternetRadio.com, WAA is expanding into new areas of media to deliver its mission and message. The new station will serve as a destination for patriotic music and stories and a medium to thank veterans for their service and sacrifice: http://youtu.be/cumHARcYZWA

"When I started Maine Internet Radio almost two years ago, I never dreamed of being involved with a project quite like Wreaths Across America Radio," said Jeff Solari, founder, MaineInternetRadio.com. "I wanted to produce unique, quality local programming by partnering with Maine people and businesses. And while WAA Radio originates in Maine, the power and positive impact it can have on veterans and their families nationwide is amazing and moving. I'm truly honored to be taking part."

Users can listen at any location from which they have access to an Internet connection. A WAA Radio listener line is available at (207) 517-2802 for listeners who have questions or would like to submit feedback. They are also encouraged to record a message to honor their favorite veteran.

"We are thrilled to have the ability to use this new platform to share Wreaths Across America's mission and reach a whole new audience," said Karen Worcester, executive director of WAA. "There are so many veterans, families and sponsors that have a story to tell, and we cannot wait to share their experiences with our listeners."

The target audience for the new station is veterans, active military personnel, Gold Star Families, WAA sponsors and volunteers. As the content builds, the station will become an important channel for educational content and a vehicle to thank WAA's supporters.
