Club Alliances, Campaigning In Full Swing; Morneau, Sale Hold Early Leads; MLB.com Data Map Shows How

NEW YORK, July 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Club alliances have formalized. T-shirts have been printed. Voting parties are scheduled. Teammates are campaigning. All collectively setting the stage for a wild, and always unpredictable, three-day dash to the 2014 All-Star Game MLB.com Final Vote Sponsored by Experian (#FinalVote) as tens of millions of online votes will be added to the more than 15 million already cast. Voting is held exclusively on MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, and the individual Club websites.

In the National League race, Colorado Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau has jumped out to an early, but narrow, lead, trailed most closely by Anthony Rizzo of the Chicago Cubs and Justin Upton of the Atlanta Braves. Anthony Rendon of the Washington Nationals and Casey McGehee of the Miami Marlins are in fourth and fifth places, respectively.

Over on the American League side, Chris Sale of the Chicago White Sox leads the race among the five pitchers entering the final two days. Garrett Richards of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Rick Porcello of the Detroit Tigers and Corey Kluber of the Cleveland Indians follow Sale closely. Dallas Keuchel of the Houston Astros is in fifth place.

TWITTER VOTING RETURNS THURSDAY, JULY 10 ONLY
The All-Star Game MLB.com Final Vote Sponsored by Experian will count Twitter support from fans over the last six hours of balloting toward candidates' vote totals. From 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. (EDT) on Thursday, July 10, all tweets with a designated player hashtag will be tabulated in official vote totals. Fans will be able to follow @MLB for the latest standings updates over the course of the entire four-day voting period.
