DoSomething.org and Fifth Harmony Join Forces for the #ImABoss Campaign

Campaign encourages young people to share what makes their friends unique to boost confidence

NEW YORK, July 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- DoSomething.org, the largest not-for-profit organization for young people and social change and pop quintet Fifth Harmony (Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Lauren Jauregui, Camila Cabello, and Dinah Hansen) announce the launch of the #ImABoss campaign that encourages fans to share with their friends what makes them amazing, unique, or strong. The campaign is in the spirit of Fifth Harmony's new single "BO$$" from their upcoming debut full-length album which will be released this Fall.

Seven in ten girls believe they are not good enough or do not measure up in some way, including their looks, performance in school and relationships with friends and family members. Owning and sharing personal traits and skills is proven to improve self worth and boost confidence, which is why DoSomething.org and Fifth Harmony are encouraging fans to help their friends find out what they're the boss of.

The campaign runs from July 9( )to September 9 and asks young people to make a sign for their friend that says "I'm the boss of..." and snap a photo of them holding up a sign to share why their friends think they're unique. The campaign will run throughout their summer tour with Austin Mahone.

"We believe that everyone is the boss of something," said Ally Brooke. "The #ImABoss campaign is exactly in line with our new single BO$$ because it's all about owning and sharing what makes you confident and strong."

"We're fangirling over working with Fifth Harmony this summer and excited to see Harmonizers across the country take action on an important cause," said Naomi Hirabayashi, Chief Marketing Officer at DoSomething.org. "As the largest not-for-profit for young people and social change, working with Fifth Harmony is the perfect fit to encourage young people to spread message of self worth and confidence with their friends."

As a part of the #ImABoss campaign, fans can enter to win prizes including the chance to meet Fifth Harmony and act as their "boss" for the day, a total of $12,500 in scholarship money, and the chance for their picture to be featured on the #ImABoss microsite.

To participate, young people can sign up and share their photos at www.dosomething.org/boss or text BOSS to 38383.
